Birthday Bash

Today was Truman's birthday party, and what a party it was! He had the best time with friends and family. Thank you to everyone who came... I know it was a long journey for many! You made his day very special!

Whoa. I am going to go SO fast.

The spread. I wanted to eat it all myself, but... I had help.

Well, I'm ready for cake. Where's everyone else?

Yay! Time to blow! I'm just learning to blow, and it's fun!

Zane, that tickles! I like tickles!

Yes, there are gifts behind me, but... this pen is just so entertaining.

I could use some help opening this gift. Thanks, Zane.

I'm rich!

I can play with a train AND push buttons on a card at the same time.

Brandt, could you help me, please?

Yes! TWO good helpers! We'll get this unwrapped in no time!

So, Kenley, I think the way this wagon works is you just sit up on the box like this.

MMMM. Cuddling with three sock monkeys. Awesome!

I love reading books.

A box to rest on and sock monkeys as pillows. This is the life.

Watch me play cornhole! I can get the bag right in!

See? Three points for me!

Thanks for coming to my party! I had a GREAT time with you!

Happy Birthday, Truman our Two-Year Old!

Truman turned two years old today! Wow! We spent the day relaxing and having fun and did gifts and cake in the evening. Truman was weighed recently, and he weighed 21 pounds and is about 30.75 inches tall. Happy Birthday, Truman!!

Waking up to balloons is not bad at all.

Can I ride it?

Birthday breakfast: waffles and fruit. Yum.

Whoa, Mama... that cupcake is on fire.

Now what?

OH, blow it out... fun!

Two!

This whole cupcake is for me? Birthdays are fun!

Mmmmm. I ate it all gone!

Where is my Apba?

Oh! There he is!

I get more than cupcakes on my birthday?

Hat!

My first adventure in popping bubble wrap.

Boy can I make some music with this drum!

Finally! A piano! Someone noticed my "air piano," I guess!

A stick... yum. Maybe if I eat this they'll give me more cake!

Birthday Eve

Truman got to wear one of his shirts for the last time tonight...

I might be "one" tonight, but I hear it's all going to change tomorrow. I'm dancing off to bed for now, and we'll see what tomorrow holds.

The Butterfly House

We made our first trip to The Butterfly House with friends today. Truman liked it... as long as he was able to run wild and free (which was not possible IN the butterfly house itself). Once he was outside, he was a whole new kiddo. Also, today's accomplishments included learning to let himself out of buildings by pushing the automatic door button. GREAT.

Some playground playtime before going to see butterflies.

We could go elsewhere, but I'm pretty comfy right here.

Let's feed this giant caterpillar by putting some more mulch in this hole.

Um... I'm ready to get up. Help, please.

Okay, Mama... I'll sit here with you, I guess.

When I get down, just how fast can I run?

Did you get the picture? I hope so, because I'm about to hop down and run away.

Now HERE is something interesting.

Outside enjoying nature. Much better.

Here "Kiki," it's like this... you just pile it all on your legs.

The Windy City

We had been wanting to take a weekend trip to Chicago since we moved to Saint Louis over a year ago, so this weekend we did just that. We kept it pretty low-key, but our activities included The Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, swimming in the hotel pool, Chicago-style pizza, the aquarium, Navy Pier, and, of course, IKEA. It was a wonderful trip with beautiful weather. Here are some moments from the adventure.

Our view of the Chicago River from our hotel room.

How many creamers would you like in your coffee?

Hello from the sky deck of the Willis Tower... see Chicago below?

When Apba took me out I was ready for adventure. Let me go, Apba! I see a whole city to explore!

Mama said "say cheese," so I did. I'm outside the aquarium now.
This yellow submarine was way fun. But, I climbed, slid, and Apba had to rescue me from this window.

I'm getting that "somebody's watching me" feeling.

Buttons, buttons, buttons. I'm in heaven.

We tried to watch some animal training here, but the timing just didn't work out.

Apba and I are enjoying the Chicago skyline after lunch.

I got to touch a starfish.
I got to keep touching!

After all that touching I had to wash my hands.

I am a penguin, see?

I am a penguin-carrying penguin.

Egg!

Mmmmm. The places I could throw this egg.

Egg, you're fun.

Whee! The slide is great!

Can everyone hear my penguin song?!

These look like good friends.

Mmm. A hug for the big penguin.

And... a hug for the little penguin.

Wait! Where am I? I thought I was at the aquarium, but... I seem to be camping!

Navy Pier was fun... but chilly. We saw some magic tricks.

Stained glass. Hm.

Here's a fun "bye bye" from a funhouse mirror in Chicago! Thanks for checking out our trip!
