Old Friend

Truman had a visit today from an old friend. The visitor was the nurse who helped Truman make a Thanksgiving card, and she was also there the day Truman graduated from the NICU and came home! In other news, Truman made a sound today that sound exactly like he said "Apba"... exactly. David and I both heard it. It was when David was changing his diaper. No, we're not counting it as his first word, I suppose, but it was really something!

So good to see you again!

Eye Appointment

Truman had to go see the opthalmologist today regarding his eye development. The doctor said that things are starting to improve! Yay!

I'm all dressed and ready to go... let's hit the road!

The Numbers

Truman had an appointment at the Apnea Clinic today, and he certainly grew! He now weighs 8 lbs. 7 oz! Everything else looked good, too. In fact, Truman's monitor requirements were lowered... there are even times of the day when he doesn't have to be on anything at all!! He put on quite a show for the doctors and nurses... he was all coos and smiles and cute kicking legs and waving arms. I have to agree with those who have stated that we may, in fact, have a little ham on our hands.
Hello, Blue Bear! (You may remember this little bear from Truman's isolette days... but at that time, the bear was wrapped in plastic wrap, so... you might not recognize him after all...)

I'd love to play with this, but I'm just... too... sleepy...

Our baby boy is five months old today! Tomorrow we'll go to the doctor and get his stats.

Turning another month older is a peaceful thing.

Cute from Top to Bottom

Here are some shots of cute little Truman!

Hanging out... playing with my rattle.

Check out these puppies!

Where'd you guys go? What's going on back there?

The face of an angel.

What? An angel?

One cool kid.

All the cool kids cuddle with their dad after a big meal.

Hey! I see you!

This is the life!

Baseball Booties

Oh my gosh... baby booties... does it get any more fun that that?!

Check these out!

They complete any outfit... don't you think?

New Bathtub

Truman took his very first dip in his new bathtub... he's been getting sponge baths, mostly, up to this point.

So, Apba... tell me how this contraption works.

After having the full bathtub experience I can tell you that it was, overall, very nice.

New Mirror

Truman got a new mirror to play with. He had so much fun he wore himself out and needed a nap!

There that handsome baby is again! Let's play!

Zzzz.... zzzzzz....

Today's Activities

Truman shares his busy day with you!

In the morning, I played with Mom.

In the afternoon, I got all dressed and wore some cute booties.

In the evening, Apba helped "Nebbie" (my nebulizer that looks suspiciously like the Loch Ness Monster) pay me a visit.

Relaxing

Nothing like wrapping up in warm blankets and relaxing after a long hard day of being a baby.

Who put me up to this?

Four Month Appointment and Happy Boy(s)

Today we went to the pediatrician for Truman's 4 month appointment (nevermind that he's 4 1/2 months old...). Truman got a good report and some new numbers:
Weight: 7 lbs 4 oz.
Length: 20 inches
Truman and Apba enjoy some quality snuggle time.

PT Fun

Yesterday was Truman's follow-up from the hernia surgery... everything looks good! Today, Truman displayed some of his talents by practicing moves recommended by the physical therapist from Georgetown. In other news, Truman now outweighs Heidi! Move over, Heidi... life as you knew it is over!

Truman is very good at tracking his mobile with his eyes.

Rattle time! I can shake it with my left hand!

Forget the old quarter-from-behind-the-ear trick... I can pull a rattle out!

With my right hand I can touch the rattle to my nose.

... and just pretty much shake it everywhere.

Hey, how'd that caterpillar get my rattle??

The caterpillar also helps me measure how long I am. My parents think I'm growing!

Caterpillars make good friends... they are excellent listeners (even if they do occasionally take your rattle).

Duck... duck...

Check out my ducks!

Also, check out my cheeks and chins (too bad my parents won't feed me)!

Oh... gotta get back to playing now... bye!

Who is that Baby?

We went to the pediatrician today: Truman now weighs 6 lbs. 14 oz!! Also, you'll notice that there is no nasal cannula/oxygen... he had an intense and persistent dislike for the whole thing, so we took it off... so far so good on the oxygen levels (and a MUCH happier baby). When we got home, Truman got a peek at a very handsome baby!

Hello... nice to meet you!

Stylin'

Truman decided he would participate (read: "star") in a fashion show today... here's an insider's look:

Here he comes in a stylish pant/shirt/hat/socks combo!

Ooh... he's pulling out his signature "baby blue steel" look!

Time for the outerwear segment of our show.

Thanks for stopping by, Everyone!

New Tricks

Truman is learning new tricks. He has started lifting his head and turning it from one side to the other during tummy time! What a strong young man... not to mention handsome!

A boppy is a comfy, comfy thing!

Does life get better than this?

Bear Ears

I cannot believe they are making me wear bear ears.

Good Start to the Year: Freedom!

We were discharged from the hospital today! Yay! We were not discharged because Truman is over the flu... but, rather, because they were not doing anything in the hospital we could not do at home, they said, and the chance of him picking up another illness in the hospital was very high. We were discharged with brand new medicines and two new machines and an order to keep Truman on oxygen for awhile. Whatever the circumstances, we're glad to be home!
