Let's Start at the Very Beginning... A Very Good Place to Start

This blog is all about Baby Truman... but a little history never hurt anyone. ;) SO, we'll start from awhile back and bring you right up to date.

August 14th, 2007: Surprise!

Time to go to the hospital (and stay there)! "What's this? I'm only 23 weeks 5 days along... how could this be?" Regardless... it was.... do not pass go; do not collect $200. And so, the adventure began.

August 15th: Get used to hospital life!

Good luck tracking Truman, nurses... he's a fast one!

My wonderful, handsome, supportive husband spending the night (one of many) in the hospital room.

August 16th: Hospital Life Continued

Well, it's official... 6 months along!

August 17th: Yay for Visitors!

Anne & Daniel visit... how wonderful!

August 18th: More Adventures in Wonderland

Mmmm... hospital food... in a cold hospital room...

Talk about getting hooked up.

August 20th: More Visitors!

Wonderful support from the CC gang!

August 23rd: People are so Good to Us

Lovely plant and flowers

Sunshine is always welcome here!

So, I'm wrapped in plastic... why not?

August 24th: Pampered Day

What a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend. Nail Taxi is awesome... I highly recommend it!

August 25th: We're all set on Waiting

The parents-to-be and a grandfather keep themselves busy

A grandmother in waiting

August 26th: A Birthday Celebration

Now, who doesn't want to celebrate their birthday in a hospital? ;)

August 28th: TRUMAN'S BIRTHDAY!!

Never in a million years did we guess when we woke up that day that it would be THE day... the day our son would be born. It came as a surprise to all of us that the waiting would be no more. Twenty-five weeks and five days... time to go.

Bring on the magnesium sulfate!

Preparing to meet our son... letting it sink in that this would be the end of him being in the womb. Very surreal.

Dr. Dad! Preparing to enter the operating room.

Grandparents awaiting the big event. Wonderful support!

Mom-to-be on the operating table... they have good drugs there!

Welcome to the world, Truman!

Truman's very first night of life outside the womb and inside the isolette.

August 29th: We're so Lucky to have Truman

Our handsome boy is a good sleeper.

Mom sees and touches her son for the first time.

Dad has not lost his sense of humour... all rolled up and trapped in the hospital room curtain.

Learning to walk again after two weeks on bed rest. (And what a lovely outfit, don't you think?)

August 31st: Yay! More grandparents!

Fun times in the hospital room during visiting hours and between trips to see Truman.

A wonderful visitor and a wonderful cook! Yay for Korean soup and all the delicious things that go with it!

Uncle Sam came for a visit!

Two very special family heirloom gifts... very beautiful.

More special gifts from special people.

September 1st: "Holding" our Baby

Check out that fashionable eyewear!! Gotta protect those baby eyes from the bililight.

September 3rd: Camping

Truman is in his tent and ready for camping. I think he may also be making some shadow puppets...

September 9th: Twelve Days Old

We "hold" him every chance we get!

Look at those eyes!

More "holding"... Can you see how the preemie diaper is wrapped around him?

Truman has found toys to play with... and boy does he ever play!

The isolette at a distance. The equipment is truly amazing.

Truman is always so relaxed when his dad holds him.

Can you see what color his eyebrows (and hair) are?
